It is very odd how many nursing stories have been passed from generation to generation. These memories would engulf her mind as she rode the very isolated train back into the still busy city. In a way she wished that these visits could go on forever but she knew that life was not that simple. Time was always ticking away and everyone and everything around was only getting older and older. All of these thoughts stayed with her until she arrived at home.

She was very excited when her duties at the hospital were over with the next day. It had been a very long and frustrating day that was filled with mean patients with very bad attitudes. The doctors on staff were acting in their usual controlling style and this made matters worse. After climbing into the nice limousine she put all of these thoughts out of her mind.

Through the ages there has been many female Mormon poets that put their heartfelt feelings into memorable prose. Around the 1850's Sarah Carmichael moved to the lower salt lake valley with some family and close friends. Her remarkable talent grew despite the poor school system and lack of educational opportunities. The salt lake news paper published more than 50 of her poems from around 1850 to 1860. Her appeal was mostly from the way she incorporated ideas like personal integrity, friendship and love into simple down to earth ideas.

In 1866 her family and some friends helped publish a small leather bound printing with 26 of her best poems. Shortly after this she married a young army surgeon. After becoming married she suffered a massive decline in her intellectual state which progressed to dementia. She passed away in 1901, quietly in her bed and is known most for the poem April Flowers.

In 1841 a niece of Joseph Smith was born on March 10th. Her parents named her Josephine Donna Smith, though she would later change her name to Ina Coolbrith. She went to California in 1852 and published some of her first poems two years later in the Los Angeles Times. At 17 she was briefly wed and lost a child.

Around the 1860's she decided to move to the San Francisco area where she got a job as a journalist for the Overland Monthly. She later became a librarian for several notable libraries including the Oakland public library. She passed in 1928 while sharing a home with her niece. Her simple lyric poems were praised by many famous authors of the time including her close friend Mark Twain.

Born October 9th 1844, Augusta Joyce Crocheron was born into the Mormon faith. When she was two years old her parents sold everything they had and sailed from New York to California with Samuel Brannan. It took roughly 6 months for them to get to San Francisco. After arriving they found the living conditions to be almost unbearable because of the war with Mexico.

The 1949 gold rush brought prosperity and later her parents divorced because of her fathers drinking. In 1868 her mom remarried and settled in Utah. Augusta became a 2nd wife to George Cocheron till she died in 1915. Drawing on her hardships and traumatic life and her poems speak of hope and the encouragement that everybody has a purpose.

Historical literary female figures are often overlooked or are underrated when compared to more contemporary poets. Immediately once World War II ended, The Soviet Union distance4d itself from the West. In particular, a deep political and diplomatic gap developed between it and the USA. That divide is the Cold War, a period of tense detente that lasted five decades. Political intrigue, diplomatic drama, international espionage and military posturing tensions marked the period, delivering rich literary material for writers of history and fiction alike.
