Empowerment refers to the increase of determination in their selves and degree of autonomy in communities and in people to represent their interests in a self determined and responsible way. They act on their own authority. This is the process on which an individual becomes more confident on themselves and stronger especially in claiming a persons rights and controlling ones life. When it comes with collective empowerment, individuals must do all they can to gain confidence and strength.

To empower your own self, there are many basic needs to pursue and acquire. Having basic needs like shelter, water, food and job will give an individual the certainty they need in controlling their lives. If these needs are not achieved, call a welfare agency or services to assist in getting started.

Try to take on a positive mantra. This could be a goal or something that wants the person to achieve or anything that will make them happy. Remember it when you are on the verge of speaking negatively or thinking out of the ordinary. Get a hold of quotes about empowerment to get some ideas.

Set up a long term and short term aims and goals. Having to work hard for something is a culmination of doing self empowerment. This will make them feel their actions will assist in achieving something. Short terms may include exercising or work productivity. Long term goals may be saving some money for traveling or taking a vacation.

Volunteer some time. Giving back to the community or a charity or an organization will help a person admit the power they have will affect the people surrounding them. Schedule some time to help other people needs and wants. Assist them in achieving their basic necessities. You can try volunteer work once a month or twice a month.

Individuals can give empowerment to other people as well. Getting involved in community events or parties is important. This would be the perfect time to give something back to the community. Sharing some of your blessings and time is sufficient enough to make some people give smiles to their faces. Find the time to help others.

Always think about the present. When thinking on past events that made you weak and powerless, look for a way on how it improved your way of life instead. Life is full of changes and mistakes and overpowering and accepting it is part of life. Recovering from past failures and mistakes is important for mental empowerment and resilience.

The silver lining must be meeting with an important person. Spending quality time with them and doing the things that you loved. Learn the truth about their selves. Looking for a new job or moving to somewhere new is also vital. Do everything that you possible want and enjoy it.

Research all the things that will empower yourself. Try out the different methods and see which method will suit you best. It may not be easy but persevere to overcome it.
