Without this person, it could be hard for the workers to analyze the setting and design is somewhat really important in a sense that it gives beauty to the play.
When you want to be a good director, it does not only stop on being someone who just speaks and wanting all the things he envisions to happen. But also someone who is a good listener to whatever the members have to say. We may not know they can also suggest things which is very possible to happen.

He would be the one doing the initiative so he can get everything work together in achieving their main goal and that is to amuse everyone who will be watching the play.
