George W. Bush served as the 43rd president of United States from 2001 to 2008. He is one of the main United States presidents whose presidency was surrounded with gossips, mysteries and rumors. There are various amazing and interesting facts that surround his life.

George W. Bush is considered as the first US president who participated in a marathon. He is known to have finished it within a period of 3 hours and 44 minutes. Bush is considered to have spared enough time during his presidency to workout in running at the Camp David which was the Presidential Retreat.

Bush was also the first president to play, cheer and supervise a baseball team. For instance, he was the organizing director of Major League Baseball Team within the Texas Rangers. He is also considered the first elected president of US and the world in large to have been a League player. In addition, he was the only US president in history who permitted T-ball games to be played in the White House Lawn.

Bush is as well the first president in history to have delivered speech in both English and Spanish. This was in 5th May 2005 during in the first Weekly Radio Address of the US President. Bush is known to have cherished eating deviled eggs, honey sandwiches, pretzels, peanut butter and grilled cheese sandwiches.

He is the first US president who took more unofficial trips, spend the longest vacation period and spend the largest amount of such trips. He is known on august 2005 to have spent five weeks on a vacation. When averaged, the total amount of money he spent per hour in these trips was between $ 56000 and $ 68000. He spent a total of 900 days which totaled to 2 years for the period of eight years.

At his early age, Bush spent some of his time taking drugs. For example, in early twenties, Bush was arrested with claims that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol. However, the amazing part is that his wife, Laura successfully influenced him to stop smoking in 1986. This was a transformational part because Bush never smoked since then.

The fact that Bush married one of the best ever first ladies in US was also other amazing facts about his life. It stated in history that, his wife Laura Bush was a very amazing woman who conducted herself courteously and throughout the eight years Bush was in rein; Laura has never embarrassed her husband or nation. When Obama was being sworn in as the following president after Bush, Laura proved to be the best lady by presenting herself courteously by welcoming Obama warmly.

These are some of less known facts you may have never known about George W. Bush. Most of them occurred during his tenure as the 43rd president of US and before he was elected as a US president. Some of them also revolve around the life of his wife Laura Bush who is considered to be the most amazing lady to have been termed as the first lady in US.
